Here are the church council decisions about the days, weeks and months ahead.
Sunday morning worship will take place over the internet using Glen Cary’s Facebook page or a link that
can be found on our web page, www.glencary.org. In order to worship together, we ask everyone to
find a computer to access this worship service on Sunday mornings at 10:00. If you do not have a computer or are unsure how to watch and participate, please call the church office immediately and we will help solve this problem with you.
You are welcome to download the bulletin for Sunday, March 22nd, which will assist you in following the online Facebook service (click here). Also, each Wednesday, Glen Cary will post a “Wednesday Devotion.” During the week, check on our Glen Cary website, www.glencary.org, and Facebook for various updates. If you are not on Facebook and would like to be, let us know and we can help make it happen.
This time might be a great opportunity for everyone to consider using electronic giving. If you would like somebody to help you set that up, please call the church office. I would recommend everyone switch from a weekly offering to once a month and mail your offerings to the church. Give online here. The ministry here still goes on and needs your financial support.
Change is happening rapidly. No decisions have been made about Holy Week. However, we are making plans to be very creative with Easter Sunday. We are looking at holding Easter worship, with communion, in the church parking lot, like an outdoor drive-in. Logistics need to be worked out and all guidelines from the state will be followed. But challenging times require creativity and the ability to adapt.
Please be proactive at being in contact with each other. Make phone calls to people you have not talked to
for a while. Staying connected even through phone calls is critical.
We know this time will come to an end. The routines of our life will return. In the meantime, there are valuable lessons to learn. Faith opens us up. Fear shuts us down. Choose faith. Remain positive and repeat after
Pastor Howard, “I am grateful.”
God’s blessings and grace to all,
Church Council of Glen Cary
