Lenten opportunities to improve our physical lives as well as our spiritual livesDuring this Lenten season, our focus will be primarily on growing in spiritual "Holy Habits." Our mid-week services in particular will center on the classic holy habits for Christian living: confession, Communion, worship, prayer, scripture reading, meditation, and fasting.
In related Lenten opportunities, we will offer two Monday evening courses, the first on improving our lives through improved healthy living habits, and another on improving our understanding and use of money.
"A Healthier Life", lead by Dr. Brad and Amy Kuehl, equips people to begin living in a healthier way. They use Dr. Ben Lerner's book, "Extreme Makeover God's Way," and a text and daily workbook to eat better, exercise productively, live with less stress, and manage time better. This course will meet at Glen Cary on Monday evenings at 7:00, beginning March 9 and continuing through April 13. The only cost for the course is $20 for the text and workbooks. Sign-up is in the Narthex, or can be done by calling the church office at 763-434-5695.
Rikki Anderson, a financial consultant, will be offering time and advice to everyday people with their finances. Rikki laments that most average folks do not have, and cannot afford to have, a financial consultant to help them in their financial decision making. Rikki will offer a course with no cost or pressure, so members and friends can better understand money and how to better manage and invest it for a more satisfying and secure financial life. The classes begin on Monday evening, March 9 at 7:00, and continue through April 6. Sign-up is in the Narthex, or can be done by calling the church office at 763-434-5695.
