In tough economic times, we pray that God will help us connect our giving to our blessings, and Christ’s mission and ministries. We can also intentionally appreciate each other’s story of God’s love and blessing in our lives; pray that the Holy Spirit will empower our faith so that indeed we won’t just be raising money, we will be raising faith. 

God's future for Glen Cary is closely connected to the 150+ current ministries and the future ministries that will help people with needs, and make a difference in our lives.  God continues to work in our congregation even as God has been working here for the last 139 years. 

The goal to pay off our mortgage in ten years - before we celebrate our 150th year anniversary - has definitely caught people's attention. 

Even in this economic recession there is the sense of coming together as we share a common mission.  Our plan is to continue to focus on our relationship with Jesus and tie our giving in thanks to all our Lord has done for us.  Please continue to pray that God will give you direction concerning the gifts God wants you to make.  In economically hard times we can define ourselves by our losses and the problems (sometimes huge) which they present.  May I be so bold as to suggest we ask the Holy Spirit to help us define ourselves by God's generosity and faithfulness as seen in our baptism, Holy Communion and God's Word, as well as our Lord and Savior, Jesus.
