            Confirmation Expectations

Behavior Expectations

  1. Be on time for all sessions and worship services.
  2. No food or sodas are allowed during confirmation.
  3. Appropriate clothing shall be worn.  This includes no drug, alcohol, suggestive, derogatory, or slanderous slogans.  Also, no hats will be worn inside the building.
  4. The use of electronic devices, including cell phones, shall not be allowed during any confirmation sessions.
  5. Demonstrating respect to others, property, God and ourselves is required at all times.

Failure to follow these expectations may result in a conference with the student and their parents.

Performance Expectations

  1. Attend all Wednesday night confirmation sessions--this includes the worship service that begins at 6:06pm.  All absences will require a make-up session/worksheet to be completed within two weeks of the absence.
  2. Attend all Lenten services including Ash Wednesday.
  3. Complete a minimum of 12 sermon notes by the end of the confirmation year.  (If worshipping at another church, complete a sermon note for that church's service and attach a bulletin from the service you attended.)
  4. *Assist with the Harvest Dinner and/or the Easter Breakfast.
  5. *Complete a minimum of two church service projects by the end April.  (Ushering, acolyte, greeter, serve meals, etc.)  These projects may not include the Harvest Dinner, Lenten Services, or the Easter Breakfast.
  6. *Complete at least one outside service project by the end of April.  (Yard clean-up, assist at a Senior Center, visit a shut-in, etc.)  These projects must have prior approval by the Youth Ministries Director or the Senior Pastor.
  7. *Participate in at least one class service project. (To be determined by the Guides.)

*Requires a Service Project Form be completed and turned into the Youth Ministries Director.

Failure to comply with these expectations will result in make-up work to be completed prior to the beginning of the next confirmation year, and may delay being confirmed!

Those students who have completed more than is required, or complete their expectations well ahead of schedule, will receive special recognition, and a reward to be determined by the Senior Pastor and the Youth Ministries Director.
